"This Patient Rights Statement for Children was written by Karen DeWitt, R.N., a long-time pediatric nurse and now head of Customer Service for MultiCare, a consortium of doctors, hospitals and related facilities in Western Washington State. It has been in circulation since 1992, a response to a realization that adult rights don't necessarily address children's needs."
